Google’s Keyword Wonder Wheel

Ahhh, the little gadgets that Google brings us just makes me happy. We all know that Google is the big kid on the block and that is fine by me since Google plays nice and shares their toys. I just found a new little gadget that helps you get some very fast keyword ideas. This little tool DOES NOT replace your standard keyword research but it can give you some quick ideas to increase the amount of keywords you are trying to rank for.

It is called the Wonder Wheel and is found right inside the normal search results pages and this thing is very cool. It allows you to drill down into Googles little spider brain and see what keywords they believe are related and show you the top choices. This is one of those articles that needs some help so I have some screenshots here to help you see what is going on.

You will see in this first screenshot that I am on Google and have typed in a search term (who is that at spot #1?). Sorry but I feel the need to brag every now and then, thank you SEO. Anyway back to topic…If you look at the image you will see on the right the words ’show options’, you will want to click that link.ww1

ww2After you clicked ‘Show options…’ you will see these options on the right hand side of the search results. These are some pretty cool options and can help you in many ways. Take a minute to do a quick preview of these options as they will deliver very targeted information to you. Another excellent option to check out is ‘Related searches’. It will popup some great ideas at the top of the search results page.

I like to use the ‘Past 24 hours’ option as this can get me up to date information on major topics I am interested in. What we want to look at today though is down there at the bottom of the options under ‘Standard view’. It is the WONDER WHEEL, no it is not a ride at the fair but may be more fun for some of us.

If you click on the Wonder Wheel link and you will see something like this with the search results pushed to the right. Sometimes it even changes the search results…not really sure what that’s about but I really don’t care either.

That’s pretty cool, huh? You instantly get 8 keyword suggestions that obviously Google believes are related. This is extremely useful for anyone that is marketing a product or service online. Now like I said this should not replace your standard keyword research but should help to enhance it. Another cool part of the Wonder Wheel is that you can click one the keywords from your results and it will kick out some results that look like this.ww4

Awesome, and it will keep going. The more you click on the current keyword wheel the deeper it digs to give you more and more keyword ideas. So get on over to Google and check out those options, you will be glad you did.

Thanx and remember…Always strive to improve and success will follow
