SEO Myths Exposed

Sunday, August 31, 2008 10:21
Posted in category S.E.O. Tips

In today’s internet it is very hard to tell fact from fiction, especially when you get old regurgitated info on one of the internet’s hottest topics…SEO. It’s safe to say that we all want the facts and not yesterday’s forgotten tidbits. There is alot of information out there that is 4 or 5 years old that people are spouting as SEO gospel, but the simple truth is that most of the things that worked then simply do not apply to today’s search engines.

Search engines routinely change their algorithms to help them index the most relevant websites for particular search terms. This means that they are looking at different types of info found on your site than they were yesterday. Why do they change, you ask? They change their algorithms because information is being delivered in many different formats than it was a few short years ago and they want to bring the best content to the top of the search results.

There are many myths out there that used to be gospel in SEO terms. This short video will shed some light on the subject for you.

The Camtasia Studio video content presented here requires JavaScript to be enabled and the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player. If you are you using a browser with JavaScript disabled please enable it now. Otherwise, please update your version of the free Flash Player by downloading here.

THIS VIDEO IS ONLY 4:25 LONG. YOU CAN STOP IT AT THAT TIME. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
I hope that helps you understand some of the differences between yesterday’s search engine and today’s. The more knowledge you have of SEO the better your site will rank and the more targeted visitors you will receive. This isn’t rocket science however it is constantly changing so you need to revisit your seo strategy regularly.

Thnx and remember…Always strive to improve and success will follow
