Article titles

You should always try to include the main keyword for your article in the title. This will help the search engines recognize your articles worth and where it should be placed for indexing. Remember that you are writing for humans so don’t do this…”Article Writing Article Writing”. This looks absurd and you won’t get taken seriously. Instead just be simple…Tips for Article Writing or Article Writing for Beginners.

Article summary (introduction)

The article summary is a brief description that most article submission sites use to preview your article to potential readers. You will want this to be around 4 sentences long and include a few keywords. Let the reader know what benefits they will gain by reading your article. DO NOT include your title, name, sales pitch, url, or email. These things will be included in your article body and your resource box.

Article body

This is your main content. You will want to write a keyword rich article that is somewhere between 400 and 800 words. If your article is lengthy you can have a part 1 and part 2. Be sure to include your article title in the first few sentences as this will add more relevance for the search engines. You will want to be clear with your information and remember this is not a sales page. Your readers want info first, and if you’re lucky, products later.

Use bold or italic text sparingly. If you use too much it will look tacky and lose all effectiveness. I like to hit the key points and leave the rest alone.

No LINKS. Save it for the resource box. There are many websites that use these articles for content. I have articles that have been put up by site owners I have never met or talked with. That is the power of a well written article. If you are quoting a site as a resource it is O.K. to place a link to that website as your source, however, just put in the raw link as http: //www.my-resource.com

Resource box

Here is your space. You most assuredly want to include your name, your url, and your short sales pitch with a call to action. 5 to 6 sentences should be enough to cover the basics while getting your point across. When putting in your url you should use the basic format as shown above as this will always show up on websites that re-publish your article. If you use anchor text (a href=) it will most likely just show up as plain text.

That is the overall basic format for most article submission sites. Of course you will need to check the guidelines of each site that you are submitting to. Article marketing is very effective and will give you long term benefits but you need to be consistent. Try to submit 1 to 3 articles a week.

My personal strategy is to submit an article, write a new article while waiting for the first article to be accepted, submit the new article within 2 days after the first article has been accepted. Trust me this will keep you busy and generate volumes of traffic that will increase as you submit more articles.

Thanx for your time and remember…Always strive to improve and success will follow

Great post. Very informative. Everyone can write, but not everyone can write well. It requires skill, creativity and talent. Plus some know-how of how online article writing differs from conventional writing is a great thing if you’re writing for online article marketing purposes.
