Niche Marketing with Yahoo

We’ve all heard it a hundred times,”make your riches with niche marketing“. It certainly is a great way to expand your business and create income with very little competition. We all want more income and finding ways to do that online can be daunting. The overall problem is research. How do you get the ideas for these niche markets?

Well one place to start is probably on your mind, in some way or another, everyday. The big bad wolf we call Yahoo. Now I know you’re probably thinking “what about google?”. While they are certainly big and bad, Yahoo provides a few “tools” that are very fast and easily accessible.

One of the best places to start is Yahoo Answers. This is a site where people post questions that they need answers for. Google used to have this but it has been retired. When you get to Yahoo Answers you will find a list of categories on the left, and a block with “Recent”/”Popular” in the Answer Questions section. You can find it at http://answers.yahoo.com/

You’ll want to look through the categories and find 3 or 4 that you have an interest and some knowledge in. This way you’ll be more motivated to find solutions or create info products for this “niche”. Yahoo helps us even more by giving us sub-categories inside the main category. For instance if you click on Pets as the main category you will find sub-categories such as, birds, cats, dogs, etc…

I love this feature cause you can get focused very fast. You want to get as targeted as you can in your niche marketing. I try to use only 4 to 7 keywords/phrases to target my audience. This helps me get plenty of traffic while being able to write quality articles to promote my niche sites.

Remember the goal here is NOT to answer questions (yet) but to find common problems. You don’t need to limit yourself to a single problem either. If you can group together 2 or 3 problems together that can be solved in a similar way you will greatly increase your chances for success.

So let’s say you’ve discovered a problem that you can fix and you have the knowledge to write an ebook on the subject. So you get to the tasks at hand which will include writing your pdf, building your sales page, buying your domain name, write and distribute 4 or 5 article “teasers” that you can send people to…

To be Continued…I will show you some marketing tactics that work great in the next article.

Thanx and remember…Always strive to improve and success will follow
