It can be like dating a new boyfriend or girlfriend or maybe more like looking at someone you really want to meet from afar. Either way your site is courting the search engines and if they don’t like what they see they may take out a restraining order against your site. Google will probably put you in a (sand) box and look at you for a little while to see if your a shape shifter.

As we all know building any type of relationship takes time and this is no exception. Gaining credibility with the search engines is really as simple as practicing pure white hat seo methods that will benefit your site and your readers. Over time the search engines will see that you are a responsible internet entity that deserves respect and consideration.

The absolute most important thing you can do to enhance and build a solid relationship is to post only quality unique content on your website. The search engine spiders live their virtual lives looking for unique articles. Feeding those spiders your juicy nuggets makes ALL the search engines happy and full. A happy, full search engine spider will remember where it’s meal came from and will keep a leg on your sites tripwire waiting for that next little nugget to fall.

As your relationship grows and you continue to feed those spiders it will soon start to carry over to the databases of webpages the search engines have at their disposal. Your articles will begin to carry more weight and you will see an increase in your search engine traffic. Building your relationship with the search engines using unique content helps your site combat two problems at once…size and age.

These things matter very much to the search engines and older bigger sites get better rankings than newer smaller sites. So feed those spiders with your own hand written articles and over time you will begin to build a beautiful, flowery love affair that will most assuredly put people on your website, money in your wallet, and a smile on your face.
