Counting Links to your Site

In my quest for completely awesome online tools for webmasters I have found a site that happens to still be in beta testing but they are accepting new accounts. This site will give you some very valuable information concerning your website all in one place. I am so very happy to be a member of their free service and I think you will be too!

You will be amazed at the wealth of information they will collect for you about your website. You will have instant access to reports concerning anchor text, anchor url, top level domains, countries, IP addresses, and domains linkinglinkcount to you. All of this information is collected and presented on one tabbed interface for you to digest as you please.

Here I will break down what these reports are. In the Anchor Text Report you will see exactly what text is being used to link back to your site. This will help you to better understand how and why you are or are not ranking for certain terms. This is extremely valuable info that can be hard to find accurate results for. In the Anchor URL Report you will see which of your pages are being linked to and by how many different domains. This can help you know where people are landing on your site the most and which pages people like the best.

In the TLD Report (top level domain) you will find out which types of domains are linking to you. You will find out how many dot coms, dot orgs, dot net, and so on are linking to your site. Some people believe a link from a dot org is considered more important than a link from a dot com, I am not sure of this but it is interesting to know. It will also show you how many sites linking to you are dot com or dot whatever.

If you have ever wondered how many links you have pointing to your site from other countries then wonder no more. This is pretty cool information. I was amazed to learn that there are sites in Singapore and Romania linking to my site. Of course most of my backlinks come from sites right here in the good old USA, but not all of them.

In the IP Report and Domain Report you will learn which IP addresses and domain names are linking to your website. This is extremely important information for each and every webmaster out there. It only takes a few bad sites linking to you to tear down all the hard work you put into your site. I suggest taking the time to do a little investigative work on these reports as it may reveal some potential problems.

As you use these reports there will be a pie graph image that you can click to enlarge that breaks down the information for easy use. I think they have done a great job with this site and provide a very valuable service for webmasters looking to save some time. You can find them at… http://wholinkstome.com/
