In the big bad world of internet marketing tools are the key to success. Having the right tools can make your daily marketing duties easy and fast, if you have the right ones. I spend a good deal of time writing articles and playing around with website programming such as php, html, and css. In my quest to find a tool to give me all the options I like to have when performing my tasks I have found a free tool that has become invaluable to me.

I used to use 2 desktop tools and 2 online tools to handle these daily jobs. Not anymore…now I have a single tool that can handle all of my writing and code editing needs and it sure has saved me some time. Before I would use notepad for my article writing and kompozer for my html and css editing. Then I would use an online word count tool and do my spell checking in my online editor. TIME CONSUMING, but I got used to it and thought that was how to get it done fast.

Today I have all of those tools in one place on my desktop and use it regularly to achieve all of those things in record time. I am talking about Notepad ++ and it is an awesome program. I highly recommend this tool to anyone that uses windows notepad for anything. It is crammed full of features including a tabbed interface for multiple documents, a word count tool, and spell checker to name just a few.

When I say features I mean it. I could write a 100 page book on this tool and still not cover everything fully. For the programmers out there Notepad ++ has syntax highlighting and offers the ability to write in over 40 different programming languages. This includes all the heavy hitters for web programmers like html, css, php, perl, ruby, python, shell, and sql. Seriously awesome I must say.

One of the features I like is the user defined syntax highlighting. This means I can set the colors to my own liking for my coding. This is very helpful if you have been using an editor that highlights your syntax and you already have those colors memorized. No need to learn new colors just take a few minutes to edit the default set-up.

It also has a zoom in or out function and full support for running macros. There is also support for several written languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Hebrew. Again I have to say that this is an awesome little tool that you can download and use at will for FREE and I am using it to write this article.

So if you are using multiple tools for your article writing and your program writing and editing I say stop the madness. Get a handle on your tools and your time because these are two things you should be in control of, not the other way around.
