As our economy declines more and more people will be looking into making money online. This will be a natural decision for most as the internet has become a part of our daily lives in America. The average person will struggle with this because we have not been educated towards earning a living by using the internet.

The majority of people looking to make money online will probably get started with affiliate marketing as this is by far the quickest way to generate online income. The problem is that most people are not marketers. So with that in mind I will offer a few quick tips on how to make some money with affiliate marketing and your current knowledge.

The first thing I want you to think about is your hobbies. You should write a list of maybe 5 or 6 things you love to do that you already have knowledge about. Now look at your list and see if any of those hobbies are social in nature. For example, say your list looks like this.

1. Fly Fishing
2. Playing Baseball
3. Cooking
4. Listening to Music
5. Flying Kites

When I look at this list I see a couple of possibilities for a potential market that the average joe could have some success at. Now I think that numbers one, three, four, and five are most likely things you will do by yourself or with just a few select people so there is probably not much of a market there for beginners.

However, playing baseball is generally social activities that you may be able to earn some money from. Let’s take a quick look at each as a source of income. Baseball has huge possibilities since it is extremely social and requires very specific equipment.

You could easily find some of the ‘hot’ products people are most likely to buy, like batting gloves, and offer other players the chance to purchase from you. For example, say the best selling brand of batting glove costs $18 a pair at your local sporting goods store but you found the same gloves for only $13 a pair from an online shop.

If your affiliate commission for that product is 15% then you could make $1.95 per sale while offering the ‘hot’ product at at more than 25% less than the department store. The great thing is that you can create a quick order form on your computer and print it out. Then just take orders and collect the money before you purchase and deliver the goods to your new customers. That is truly a win-win situation for all.

That is just one product, how about baseball bats and mitts. The point is this…there are many more opportunities to make money out there than the average person thinks about. We are just not taught to think that way so it does not occur to us that our favorite pastime could become a part time income as well.

So the next time you spend some money on one of your favorite hobbies take a minute and see if you can think of a way to turn that into a money making opportunity for yourself. If you apply affiliate marketing to the offline world and your favorite social pastime you may be surprised at the results.
